Whole Community Catechesis & Effective Social Media (held August 21, 2019) - On August 21, nearly eighty parish staff members gathered at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Derry for a professional development day. The morning session on Whole Community Catechesis was presented by the staff at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, while the afternoon session on Effective Social Media was presented by Raphael Bastek and Annie Wade from the Diocese of Manchester Communications Department.
Marriage Formation Workshop - When Marriage Formation Ignites Evangelization (held June 13, 2019) - While we all know marriage formation is key to the future of a vibrant Catholic Church, we also know that current marriage prep does not integrate the average engaged couple into the life of the Church. The workshop discussed revolutionary new insights in Catholic psychology and evangelization for better accompaniment of engaged and newly married couples so that they can become the future of our Church.
Listening, Dialogue, Discernment and Accompaniment in Christ: The 2018 Synod and Pastoral Ministry with Young People (held May 15, 2019) - Amid crisis and scandal, the Church is focusing positively and realistically on pastoral ministry with young people. Some insights may seem very basic, such as listening, dialogue, discernment, and accompaniment in Christ. They are, though, fundamental to a move away from simply a programmatic model of ministry with young people to one that is more fully focused on encounter and accompaniment.
A Call to Hope, A Call To Act: Pastoral Letter from Bishop Libasci - Bishop Libasci issued his first Pastoral Letter on January 16, 2019. His Pastoral Letter, A Call to Hope, a Call to Act, calls upon the people of the Diocese of Manchester to actively engage in strengthening our commitment to lifelong faith formation in all our parishes, schools, and home schools.
